The movie that can be compared to Hamlet is The Lion King. In the Lion King, Mufasa is killed by his brother just like Hamlet's father is killed by his brother Cladius. The characters of Timon and Pumbaa are very similar to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. They both are characters that are always together and change the course of the plots. One difference is the character of Nala compared to Ophelia. In Hamlet, Ophelia and Hamlet do not end up together unlike the Lion King where Simba and Nala end up together. The relationship between Hamlet and Ophelia is much more complicated compared to the relationship between Nala and Simba. The Lion King plot is very similar to the plot of Hamlet because it was based off of Shakespeare's play.
